Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Guild Idle (“we”, “our”, or “the site”) handles information when you visit guildidle.com.

1. Data We Collect

Guild Idle does not require account creation and does not collect personally identifiable information directly. Your game save data is stored locally in your browser’s localStorage and is never transmitted to our servers.

We use the following third-party services that may collect anonymized data:

• Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights — collects anonymized page view and performance data. No cookies are set. See Vercel’s privacy documentation .
• Google Analytics — collects anonymized usage data including page views, session duration, and in-game events (e.g. tab navigation, dungeon dispatches). No personally identifiable information is collected. Cookies and session identifiers are only stored after you grant consent via the banner shown on your first visit; before consent, data is collected only in cookieless, aggregated form via Google’s statistical modeling. Legal basis: consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). See Google’s Privacy Policy . You can also opt out globally via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on .
• Google AdSense — displays advertisements. Personalised ads and third-party cookies for ad targeting are only activated after you grant consent via the banner. Without consent, AdSense serves non-personalised ads only and sets no cookies. Legal basis: consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). See Google’s advertising policy .

If you use optional online features, the following data may be sent to our servers:

• Leaderboards — if you submit a score, your chosen display name and score are stored on our servers to power the public leaderboard. Submission is entirely optional and opt-in.
• Colosseum — if you enter the Colosseum, a snapshot of your party (hero levels, classes, and equipment) is stored on our servers for matchmaking. This snapshot contains no personally identifiable information beyond your chosen display name.

Leaderboard and Colosseum data is not linked to any real-world identity and is not sold or shared with third parties. To request removal of your submitted data, contact us at privacy@guildidle.com.

2. Cookies & Consent

Guild Idle itself does not set cookies. We use Google’s Consent Mode v2 so that neither Google Analytics nor Google AdSense sets any cookies or stores personalised identifiers until you explicitly grant consent via the banner shown on your first visit. Before consent is given, both services operate in a restricted, cookieless mode — Google may still produce aggregated, statistical insights from your visit, but no cookies are placed and no data is linked to you personally.

You can change your preferences at any time by clearing the gdpr_consent key from your browser’s Local Storage (see §5 below). You can also opt out of personalised advertising globally via Google’s Ad Settings or aboutads.info, and opt out of Google Analytics tracking via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data. The third-party services listed above operate under their own privacy policies and are the sole recipients of any data collected through this site.

4. Children’s Privacy

Guild Idle is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through this site, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you have the following rights regarding any personal data processed about you:

• Right of access — you may request a copy of data held about you.
• Right to erasure — you may request deletion of your leaderboard or Colosseum entry at any time by emailing privacy@guildidle.com.
• Right to withdraw consent — you may change or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time. To reset the consent banner, open your browser’s developer tools (F12), go to Application → Local Storage → guildidle.com, and delete the gdpr_consent key. Reload the page and the banner will reappear.
• Right to lodge a complaint — you may contact your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have not been respected.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
