What Changes at Level 10

When a Ranger reaches level 10 and you select Warden, three things change permanently:

  1. Stat bonuses are added to the hero's ability scores immediately and permanently.
  2. Active ability is replaced with the subclass variant (Volley).
  3. Passive effect is unlocked and becomes active in all future runs.

Ability: Volley

Volley: Fires a volley that hits all enemies and applies Chill to each target. AP lowers the cooldown.

Permanent Stat Bonuses

Warden grants the following ability score bonuses on top of the Ranger base scores:

These bonuses stack with ability score points allocated from levelling. They cannot be removed without retiring the hero.

Passive Effect

60% chance to apply Chill on hit, slowing the target's attack timer.

This passive is always active during combat — no gear or skill tree investment required to trigger it.

Recommended Skill Tree Themes

Speed (Glass Striker keystone, Fleet-Footed), Crit (Vorpal Edge for on-hit slow crits).

See the Skill Tree deep dive for the full 120-node reference and routing advice, or the Ranger build guide for a complete path recommendation for this class.

Warden vs. Sniper

Both subclasses unlock at level 10. Compare them to choose:

The choice is permanent — use a Scroll of Divergence consumable to re-select without retiring the hero.

Applying via Archetype

Set an Archetype with Warden as the guild standard for Ranger — all future recruits of that class will automatically receive this subclass at level 10 without any manual selection.
