Thorns fighter — reflects 30% of incoming damage back at the attacker.
"Every wound I take is a wound you earned."
When a Gladiator reaches level 10 and you select Pit Fighter, three things change permanently:
This subclass uses the base Gladiator class ability unchanged.
Pit Fighter grants the following ability score bonuses on top of the Gladiator base scores:
These bonuses stack with ability score points allocated from levelling. They cannot be removed without retiring the hero.
Reflects 30% of incoming damage back to the attacker.
This passive is always active during combat — no gear or skill tree investment required to trigger it.
Defense (Living Fortress, Immovable, Iron Wall), Vitality (Juggernaut, Resilience).
See the Skill Tree deep dive for the full 120-node reference and routing advice, or the Gladiator build guide for a complete path recommendation for this class.
Both subclasses unlock at level 10. Compare them to choose:
| Pit Fighter | Iron Titan | |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Thorns fighter — reflects 30% of incoming damage back at the attacker. | Immovable wall — stance taunts all enemies and a passive reduces all incoming damage. |
| Stat Bonus | +2 Toughness, +1 Vitality | +3 Toughness |

The choice is permanent — use a Scroll of Divergence consumable to re-select without retiring the hero.
Set an Archetype with Pit Fighter as the guild standard for Gladiator — all future recruits of that class will automatically receive this subclass at level 10 without any manual selection.
