Beast Form is a deliberate tool — triggered on demand, not just below 35% HP.
"The beast is not a last resort. It is a choice."
When a Druid reaches level 10 and you select Shapeshifter, three things change permanently:
Primal Surge: Surges with primal energy, advancing the attack timer for an immediate bonus strike.
Shapeshifter grants the following ability score bonuses on top of the Druid base scores:
These bonuses stack with ability score points allocated from levelling. They cannot be removed without retiring the hero.
Maintains Beast Form permanently — ATK bonus is always active, not just below the HP threshold.
This passive is always active during combat — no gear or skill tree investment required to trigger it.
Vitality (Juggernaut, Unstoppable Momentum for Beast Form HP synergy), Offense (War Machine).
See the Skill Tree deep dive for the full 120-node reference and routing advice, or the Druid build guide for a complete path recommendation for this class.
Both subclasses unlock at level 10. Compare them to choose:
| Shapeshifter | Thornweaver | |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Beast Form is a deliberate tool — triggered on demand, not just below 35% HP. | Thorns reflect damage and roots enemies in place — the forest fights back. |
| Stat Bonus | +2 Vitality, +1 Strength | +2 Spirit, +1 Toughness |

The choice is permanent — use a Scroll of Divergence consumable to re-select without retiring the hero.
Set an Archetype with Shapeshifter as the guild standard for Druid — all future recruits of that class will automatically receive this subclass at level 10 without any manual selection.
